Group boards shuttle to begin drive to the Quartz Hotel and Spa

Tour the MINEC facility and short orientation for the clinic days 

Introduction to the Megagen Line of implants and to become familiar with

-Blue Diamond

-Surgical kit training

-Implant motor training

-CBCT software training

Case Selection
-Medical assessment/Medical History/Contraindications to implant treatment
-Bone/Soft tissue evaluation 

-Site development 

-Doctors encouraged to bring their cases so that we can plan with the group

 

CBCT 

-Software introduction

-Evaluation of sites

-Axial, Coronal, Sagittal evaluation tools review

-Radiographic anatomy and how to identify

-Example Case Review

Digital Dentistry

-3D implant planning

-surgical guides (tooth supported)

-R2 Gate software (export .stl file to 3D print)

-3D printing (utilizing Sprint Ray or Shining 3D)

-Restoration Design & Milling Introduction to reinforce prosthetic focus (using 5-axis mill)

Dental Anatomy

-Review anatomy as is pertains to Dental Implantology using models, photographs and diagrams

-Review models 

-Maxillary anatomy

-Mandibular anatomy

-Sinus anatomy

11:00am — Coffee Break

Dental Implant Review

-Type of dental implants (body shape, thread design, surface texture & prosthetic connection)

-Discuss indications for ideal placement (depth and bone density)

12:00 -1:00 pm — Hands-on Implant Placement with Models 

1:00 - 2:00 p.m. – Lunch


2:00 pm

Dental Implant Surgery

-Flap design

-Osteotomy Formation — Depth, Length & Angulation

-Decision tree for 1-stage vs 2-stage approach 

-Decision tree for immediate implant placement

-Custom healing abutment fabrication

 

3:30pm 

Hands-on: Fabrication for Custom Healing Abutments

 

4:30pm

Augmentation Techniques

-Biomaterials: PRF / Tuberosity Marrow Aspiration

-Socket Grafting

-Soft Tissue Augmentation (CTG / Free Ging)

-Sinus Augmentation (Crestal / Lateral Review)

-Rotary and mechanical augmentation 

-Osseous Onlay Procedures: GBR, Tunnel, Block, Khoury

-Suture materials and techniques


Post-Operative Care

-pharmacological

-post operative visit and evaluation techniques 

-Long-term maintenance protocols

8-10 p.m. – Open forum for case review

Thursday

8:00 am – Lecture & Case Review for morning surgical session

9:00 am — 12:00 pm: Hands-on surgeries

Participants work in pairs to place implants on patient with instructor oversight throughout procedure

12:00 – 2:00 pm: Lunch and case review

2:00 - 7:00 pm – Hands-on surgeries

Participants work in pairs to place implants on patient with instructor oversight throughout procedure

 

Place additional implants and assist your partner in the same utilizing CBCT.

Perform extraction and grafting procedure.

Question and answer session with the instructors.

7-10 pm – Dinner and Surgical Case Review of surgeries completed that day

Friday

6:45 am

Breakfast at the Quartz Hotel and Spa (included with hotel room)

4-5pm: Case Review

 

5-6pm: Final Course Review

 

7-10 p.m. – Farewell and Graduation Dinner

Group departs for San Diego Airport via shuttle across the US-Mexico border

Flights depart for individual
